2025 Leaf Drop Event

Saturday November 15th  |  9am - 12pm  |  9270 CR 140 Salida

Bring your leaves and yard waste to our FREE event - then stay for a tour of our facility and new building!

Details below on acceptable items.

NO PAPER LEAF BAGS!

Any bagged yard waste must be contained in plastic or compostable bags only!

Why?!  The paper leaf bags do not break down in our system because they are too thick and repel moisture.  They are also too soiled to recycle and cost us a lot of money to dispose of.  We don't like plastic either but we do our best to reuse plastic garbage bags (look for a bag swap at the compost site drop-off) and they don't kill as many trees.

NEW! Yard Waste Pickup Service - We'll pick up bagged yard waste from your home. Seasonal dates, signup online required.

  • Crested Butte - October 23, 30 & Nov 6
  • Salida - November 4 & 11
  • Buena Vista - November 5

Schedule a Drop Off - we accept bulk yard waste year round by appointment.  $15 per load.  Contact usto set up a time to come to our facility.
